Bluefaqs is a design blog looking to expand in the quality and quantity of posts. We focus our attention on Photoshop, CSS, HTML, jQuery, typography, minimalism, inspiration and blogging in general.

We currently receive around 100,000 monthly pageviews, although that number is growing. Just this month (April) we received 34,000 pageviews in only 36 hours. In other words, we plan to grow up and grow up big!

If you’re a designer and enjoy blogging and writing about the industry, drop us a line through our contact form. Maybe you’ve never written for the web before, that’s perfectly fine with us. If you’re a strong writer you already know it in your heart, so put something together and send it in.

What We Are After

If you aren’t familiar with the blog, read through a few of our articles to get an idea of the style of writing we’re after.

We’re in the market for well-written articles, how-to’s and detailed tutorials paying special attention to screenshots. We aren’t currently looking for inspirational roundups, but maybe sometime in the future.

We frown upon plagiarism and actively check all articles to ensure that the content is completely original. Don’t even try to copy/paste an article that you didn’t write.

What’s In It For You?

Money - We currently pay between $20 and $30 for articles and tutorials. Of course as we attract more sponsors, that rate will increase. If you write a stellar article that goes above and beyond, we may reach above our cap, but that will depend on the quality of the post.

Exposure - Along with your name, we will include a link to your website or Twitter profile within the article. You will most definitely get some exposure as we receive, on average, 2,000+ visitors a day. We will take care of promoting the article through social media sites and other venues, but you’re welcome to help out by promoting it yourself.

We do not guarantee that your article will be posted. In other words, don’t stay up all night trying to crank out an article, send it in to us and expect to receive payment. If you have already written some material that has not been published somewhere else, please send it in and we will review it as well.

We pay our writers via Paypal or check.

Guidelines

Here are a few guidelines you should follow:

  • 800 words minimum for articles
  • Please attach screenshots to the posts with a maximum width of 520px wide
  • Spell check please
  • We reserve the right to edit your post. Rarely done except to make changes to heading tags, punctuation, grammar, post images, etc…
  • No links to questionable websites
  • You must agree that the post will not be published anywhere else or has been published on another site previously

If you’re unsure if your articles are what we are after, just send us some example work. We’re not your professor or boss, so we won’t grade you or make you work weekends if we don’t like it.
