How To Stretch A Wallpaper Across Dual Monitors - Vista Fix

Posted on 30. Jul, 2009 by Shawn Ramsey in Misc

If you are trying to stretch a giant wallpaper across two monitors using Vista, you may run into a small problem.. it wont work. If you right-click on a wallpaper and select “Set as Desktop Background,” as most people do when changing wallpapers, you’ll notice that the image is mirrored on both monitors. You can go to Right-Click (on desktop)>Personalize>Desktop Background and play with the position settings, but it will not stretch.

Here Is How To Fix It:

Instead of Right-Clicking and choosing “Set as Desktop Background” to change your wallpaper out. First save the image to your computer. Then go to Right-Click (on desktop)>Personalize>Desktop Background and next to Location, Browse for the image you want and then choose the Tile option. For whatever reason, choosing to set the wallpaper by right-clicking will not allow it to stretch across dual monitors.

    Thx..

I searched a solution for this a few times and finally I found the reason for why it would not “Tile” correctly as I was used to on XP.
