Now that the iPad has been released, web developers and designers alike want to know which apps are worthy of their fingerprints.

Apple’s coolest new toy has finally arrived and for those who haven’t had a chance to put their fingers on it, it’s pretty awesome. As with the iPhone, it will no doubt change the way we interact with the web, even when we’re not on the go. Looking past the cool factor of the iPad, you’ll probably want to know what apps are available that will actually be useful in the realm of the design world.

I’ve compiled a collection of 20 creative iPad apps that will prove quite useful for web designers, graphic designers and anyone with creative juices. We’ll take a look at applications that will help you get your sketch on, interact with your sites, check stats, brainstorm and even a game or two. Here are 20 creative iPad apps for web developers and designers.

Adobe Ideas

Adobe Ideas is your digital sketchbook, letting you capture and explore ideas anywhere you go. It’s an ideal companion for the professional design applications from Adobe, including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop software.

Wait, this is a game that has nothing to do with web development or design. Exactly! We all need to step away from our work a bit and have a little fun. Plants vs. Zombies HD is the perfect game to escape the design world and enjoy ourselves a bit.

20 Creative Apple Concept Designs

With the much anticipated unveiling of Apple’s new tablet, dubbed the iPad, I thought we would take a look at some other apple related concept designs that have sprung up across the web. Apple is famous for being on the forefront of breakthrough tech designs that often live up to their hype upon their release.

In this post we will take a look at several different concept designs for computers, iPods, iPhones and some accessory items. Since we can’t physically hold the iPad yet (as of the publish date of this article), we can at least see what some designers have dreamt up in this collection of 20 Creative Apple Concept Designs.

Computer Concepts

MacBook Touch Concept

Features an OLED flexible screen that can be used in several different positions. The spine-like bendable center, labeled iSpine, contains no dead space and is actually one single 13″ screen.

Mac Mini (slim version)

A more slim version of the Mac Mini, this concept contains all of the features of the original packed into a much more sleek design.

Apple Tribook

When the TriBook’s lid is closed, the two side screens tuck in neatly, sandwiched between the main display and the keyboard/touchpad. When fully unfolded, it stretches its wings to a display of 21 diagonal inches. It features an 8X SuperDrive, an array of I/O connectors, and a MacBook Pro-caliber CPU.

Apple iView

Features a double panoramic screen with a unique curvature. The backside of the screen also contains a smaller display perfect for colleagues and assistants to view your work. The image is provided via Bluetooth and their are two web cams situated on both the front and rear of the device.

MacBook Mini

When folded, the MacBook Mini is just 5.4-inches thick. In its fully expanded state, the tiny laptop boasts a keyboard, trackpad, 10-inch LED display, and 128GB SSD — unfortunately there’s no optical drive according to the renders.

iPod Concepts

iBangle

You see that blue inner band? Push a tiny button on the side and it fills with air, expanding to fit snugly around your wrist. There’s a multi-touch track pad for easy navigation, and the audio finds its way to your ears via a couple of wireless earbuds. Alas, there’s no screen, but designer Gopinath Prasana figures you can navigate just fine with an audio-oriented navigation system.

iPod Chimera

Although labeled an iPod, you can see by the display on the image that it also accepts calls. Not only does it have a nice appearance, but it also seems to come with a pair of wireless earbuds.

iPod Shuffle

This iPod concept might be aimed more toward women than men. With it’s colorful design, it could be used to make a fashion statement or perfect for the music driven jogger.

iPod nano

A new version of the nano mimics the iPhone with it’s touch screen display. I love the addition of the pop-in gaming controls, because we all know how hard it is to use directional controls on the touch screen.

HiPod

This concept features a watch styled iPod with a flip-up screen which cover the controls in the down position. It’s very stylish in my eyes, and the wireless earbuds compliment the design quite well.

iPhone Concepts

iPhone Elite

Dual sliding mechanism, SMP camera with 3X optical zoom and loads more. What does the iPhone Elite not have?

Curved iPhone

This iPhone concept takes the original design and gives it a stylish curve.

Chromatic iPhone

Same phone in a multitude of different chromatic colors. Since a case is almost mandatory, I doubt this concept will have too much of a chance.

Nouveau Concept

I love the flat black look on the back of the phone and the redesigned ‘Home’ button.

iPhone Tint

Flash video support, titanium side panels and a cool contoured shape.

iAqua 2

A very unique charging dock with a clear display underneath.

iPetals

No more plugging in the phone with this idea.

iHammock

Abduzeedo

With their wallpaper of the week section, there really is no shortage of awesome wallpapers over at Abduzeedo.

Nsthreed vs Enkera

A collection of 30 iphone wallpapers titled “Story Tellin,” from two different designers. The source from this collection is also located at DeviantArt.

InterfaceLIFT

I’ve often found some great desktop walls over at InterfaceLIFT. Their iPhone wallpaper collection is quite extensive and easy to navigate through as well.

Guilherme Marconi

Guilherme Marconi known for his unique and colorful artistic style, has put together several very colorful wallpapers. You can find a featured collection of 10 for the iPhone over at Abduzeedo.

iPhone Jungle

Set-up in a blog format, iPhone Jungle has lots of different wallpapers to browse through. Here are just a few from their vibrant & colorful collection.

Theme My Phone

Obviously a website devoted to cell phone wallpapers, ThemeMyPhone has several in the colorful department.

Icon Factory

You can find a few good iPhone wallpapers over at the IconFactory, most of which are illustrations.

There are quite a few to choose from at Sciphone. Here are a several colorful options, some bearing the apple theme. I couldn’t link directly to the images, but found these in the latest wallpaper section.

iPhoneAtmo

You can find a pretty good collection of wallpapers devoted to the iPhone over at iPhoneAtmo. Beware, you may see some nudity while your there too. I immediately noticed a topless Madonna wallpaper on my last visit.

Pedro Dale

Pedro Dale has collected over 300 nice looking wallpapers in his Flickr set.

The Apple iPhone raised the bar for future cell phone designs when it made its debut in early 2007. Since its initial release, two more designs have reached the public through the 3G and the 3GS with very little change to the original look. Thankfully, some creative Apple fans have given us a glimpse on their take of the Apple iPhone through some really clever concept ideas.

Below is an assortment of some of the best, more attractive concepts to hit the web. Hopefully some of the Apple designers are taking note of these as well.

Apple iPhone Concepts

01. Chromatic iPhone

Same phone in a multitude of different chromatic colors. No more grabbing the girlfriends phone by accident.

02. iPhone Air

Macbook Air meets iPhone.

03. Nouveau Concept

I love the flat black look on the back of the phone and the redesigned ‘Home’ button.

04. Looking Glass

One of many clear iPhone designs.

05. Heir Apparent

“Crystal clear, thin, lightweight iPhone with the following features: fully functional Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 3G compatibility, 64GB HD, 5 megapixel camera, and customizable UI (just to name a few).” – Robert Davis

06. iPhone Unibody

Not much bigger than a credit card, this concept shaves the edges off the phone.

07. iPhone Tint

Flash video support, titanium side panels and a cool contoured shape.

08. iPhone Elite

09. iPhone Nano

I have a feeling this one may come true.

10. Next iPhone

Another concept that changes the shape of the original design.

11. iPhone 4G

Inspired by the curves and tapering of the Macbook Air coupled with the touch’s back.

12. New iPhone

This one focuses on changing up the GUI.

13. iPhone Video Concept

This concept was created before the release of the 3GS, which of course does support video recording. I think the curved design is pretty slick though.

14. iPhone Nano

Another iPhone Nano concept. Hmm…

15. iPhone Gesture

“This is a gesture-enabled device that replaces the Home Button with a touch-sensitive area, placed beneath the phone’s OLED display.” – Ludwig

I hope the curved concept catches on, it just makes the phone look more sophisticated.
