25 Free Handwritten Fonts For That Personal Touch
Posted on 26. Mar, 2010 by Shawn Ramsey in Resources

In today’s world, we are so used to reading and typing out perfectly shaped type-faced characters, that we often forget how attractive a handwritten font actually is. I’ve recently noticed the use of well-placed handwritten fonts throughout several of the websites that I commonly visit as well as various print media. They may be scribbled in the sidebar to highlight some categories, used to point out certain elements within a tutorial or even as the tagline of a logo.
Handwritten fonts add a bit of a personal touch to a design and are quite easy to implement. Fortunately, many individuals blessed with a beautiful penmanship have graciously donated their handwritten fonts for absolutely free. If you are looking to add a bit of a custom touch to your designs, take a look at these 25 Free Handwritten Fonts For That Personal Touch.

Thanks Lam! I’m attempting to publish less list posts, so when I do decide to crank one out, I believe adding a personal touch helps to spice them up.
I appreciate the feedback and for your tweeting the round up!

I’m glad that you enjoyed the presentation of the fonts Cody. If I had to choose one that matched my writing style, I would have to go with the “Writing Stuff” font. Josschrift is a nice one. Thanks for the feedback!

I’ve also noticed the use of handwritten fonts in several websites recently. Blog.spoongraphics and Webdesignerwall immediately come to mind.
In my opinion, they add a bit of character when used appropriately and in moderation. With web design, you have to be conscious of where they appear for it to work in your favor.
You’ve definitely found some good fonts here and I will be bookmarking for future reference.
Thanks!

Are you reading my mind Ashley? Those two specific websites immediately come to mind when I think of handwritten fonts being applied to web design.
Without a doubt, they can become quite attractive when used sparingly and in the appropriate context.
Thanks Ashley!
